What do HUD and the Bank of America have in common? If you are in the real estate profession, you already know the answer to this one.

Neither HUD nor the Bank of America understands or appreciates the role of the real estate agent in the transaction.

Neither HUD nor the Bank of America understands or appreciates the duties of a real estate agent in the real estate transaction.

Neither HUD nor the Bank of America believes the real estate agent to be a valuable asset worthy of respect and consideration.

I have spent hundreds, maybe thousands of hours trying to communicate this to these entities. All of my pleas have fallen on deaf ears.

That’s because my premise is true and factual. If it were any different things would change,

But they never do.

If corporations were indeed real people then BOA would be the guy down the street who will not answer the door if you come by and definitely will not listen to anything you have to say because they know it all!

HUD, Bank of America - it's always a wild card dealing with them. Some deals are straightforward, some are ridiculous and have no common sense.

Too many people get involved who are too detached from the asset, yet they ignore the most important and active one: the real estate agent!

Richard:  Just as I was getting ready to make my comment regarding your blog guess who called?  BOA's Twitter team to make sure I had gotten some action from my negotiator on a FHA short sale.  I told her how much I think BOA thinks of their "preferred" realtors and all the various issues with my negotiator which makes Attila the Hun look like a patsy.  I also mentioned your blog and how we realtors feel about Bank of America.  The only saving grace is the Twitter team at BOA.  They at least force negotiators and their supervisors to reach out but it gets old that I have to revert to using them everytime I want to get something done on one of my files.

Spot on regarding this institution who is driving me to drink and perhaps to a straight jacket if they don't get their act together.

So true. I guess you never heard of the "Golden Rule"? You know the ones with the gold make the rules! It sad but true that the banks are running gun shy these days and I don't see it changing anytime soon. I guess we will just have to grin and bear it as real estate agent. After all isn't that why we get paid the big bucks?  hahahaha

I feel your pain and frustration.  HUD has always been this way - but Bank of America, not so much.  Too bad for all of us in the industry.

I agree with Richard: They have lost sight of the true mission.

I am having some issues with BOA.  I am sure HUD will be right behind it.

The recent memos from BoA show clearly they have no understanding of how the real estate industry works.  Though they want to insert themselves in the process they haven't bothered to learn how it works.

I trained to be a HUD agent and work with Bank of America regularly with their Short Sales.  Neither of these entities really values real estate agents.

I haven't dealt with HUD but I have dealt with Bank of America.  They ahve no respect for anyone in the transaction, including themselves.  After over 6 months of calling BOA every week the buyer decided to walk.

The government wants a communist state period. The HUD has allways been corrupt & rewarded the New York governor who use to head the corrupt HUD, with a governorship.

Richard, I just read a post where Bank of America is dictating how and when to change the sales status in the MLS. How can they get away with that?

Richard, very good point. I know for a fact Bank of America does not appreciate agents, nor do they respect us. I've not had direct experience HUD nor do I want to. Thanks for sharing this affirmative post on Bank of America doesn't appreciate real estate agents, their role or their duties.

I could add one or two bank names to join with Bank of America. but that wouldn't be nice of me so I won't.
