Is there anyone in your office that just keeps on wining? You know the ones, their glass is never half full, everything could go wrong at any moment? Well if you don't, good for you!
I have always prided myself on being a positive person at work and at home ... until about a year ago. Then , I started buying into the garbage that the media and some of my associates were spewing. After about six months of that; I was ready to put my tools back on and go back to welding. (stupid!!!) I was repeating what I was hearing, until I went to a CE class with a dynamic speaker that pulled my head back into the light.( if you know what I mean)
Suggestions: If you ever hear another agent say " The market is just dead!" Please correct them and tell them that it is better to say: "The market is a little slow, but it is picking up! Or, it's going to pick up!"
You see all it takes is one influential person that you share a negative with; to repeat that to the media or other prominent people and the next thing you know the market is dead in 'small town USA' according to CNN or another biggie. Bad news sells media! If you can't say something positive "shhhhhhhhh"!!!!
I know how it starts; one of your sellers asks the question" Have you been getting any lookers on my property?" The easy way out is to say "man it's just dead out there". A true salesman will tell his client what he is doing that is positive to get the job done.
It takes a lot of damage control to reverse a negative and it begins with us as REALTORS© to get it done. I am making a promise to you that I will not buy into or repeat negatives about this business and ask that you do the same!

Folks have opinions and they can speak them. You have to have your own mind.
I often say "The market is dead", but I don't say for how long.
For folks in an office, you should follow the 15 foot rule. Stay 15 feet away from them. Or, work from home.
