The Arts Alive Banner Project 2013 in Encinitas CA is Here!
The Arts Alive Banner Project 2013, the 14th annual, is a combination of local artistic talent, open-air displays, and an auction of banners to raise funds for various groups in the local community.
The 101 banners will be unveiled today, Saturday February 16th at the former Cabo Grill in Leucadia (Encinitas) at 1950 N. Coast Highway from 12 – 4 pm.
The unveiling is a fun and free event that is always well attended by the artists, and area art lovers interested in getting a close up glimpse before the banners are displayed publicly along the Coast Highway.
Silent bids will be taken beginning at the reception and continuing through the display period, culminating in the auction in May in Cardiff.
The Arts Alive Banner Project is an interesting community project where artists are recruited to paint colorful banners that are displayed along historic Route 101 (the Coast Highway) in Encinitas, Leucadia, Cardiff’s Restaurant Row, and the Seaside Market Parking lot.
Silent bids (minimum of $150 with 50% going to the artist and 50% to the Arts Alive Banner Project) can be submitted by calling the Leucadia 101 Mainstreet Association at (760) 436-2320; final bids will be accepted at the live auction on May 26th in Cardiff’s town center at 2:00 pm (San Elijo and Birmingham).
