Open House Etiquette for First Time Home Buyers

By
Mortgage and Lending with Platinum Home Mortgage NMLS ID#283159

An important part of the search process for first time home buyers is open houses. You'll spend many weekends dropping in  and checking out homes in your neighborhoods of choice.

If you've already attended a first time home buyer education course, they probably didn't include Etiquette for Open Houses.

Note how Dad and the Kids do some bonding with the Realtor while Mom is exploring the house, checking out the kitchen, master bedroom and bath. They all got a good look at the yard on their way in.

Isn't it just like kids, to be so well behaved when they're out in public and at home they're like monkeys?

Open House Etiquette is Common Sense

Etiquette at Open Houses is just common sense.I'm not sure if there is any published material on the subject, but common sense should prevail. You know, no jumping on the furniture or raiding the refrigerator (that goes for the kids too!).

This family obviously felt right at home at this open house and maybe were more than just lookey loos.

We have helped countless first time home buyers and their families make the right home buying decision and they all have one thing in common, they contacted us.
