Welcome to Crawford Country, Delta County, Colorado. Crawford is probably Delta County's smallest incorporated town. You can blink three times before you miss the town as you travel through the area, but you'll want to stop and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Welcome to Crawford Country, Delta County, Colorado. This is the town of Crawford as soon traveling north up Highway 92. The town covers about .3 square miles and has around 350 people. This area is also home to the North Rim of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. Getting to this area of the park involves about 10 to 15 miles of dirt road driving and it's relatively uncrowded during the summer months.
The scenery in and around Crawford, Colorado is beautiful. Crawford sits at the base of the West Elk Mountains. Needle Rock is a prominate local peak that stands out. You can get a good view of it, from anywhere south of town. Crawford State Park is just south of town. Jet skiing, boating and water skiing are really popular activities. The fishing is pretty good, too. The reservoir has many species of fish, including perch, bass, catfish and pike. The park also has camping. The picture to the left shows the view from the park.
