Is it the Feng Shui, or is it the Law of Attraction at Work?
When you stop to think about it, these do go hand-in-hand.
If you've studied the Law of Attraction, you know you must keep your thoughts and emotions focused on the desired outcome. By doing so you'll naturally be "moved" to take appropriate action.
If you're selling a home, appropriate action is making the house as appealing as possible.
Most of our stagers don't talk about Feng Shui, but I have an idea that many practice it instinctively, if not deliberately.
In Feng Shui, the focus is on placing objects and colors in the proper places to bring about a desired change. Each area of a house - or a room - represents a different quality of life. These include health, love, prosperity and wealth, fame, etc.
Each room in a "Feng Shuied" house has balance. Each of the elements of fire, water, earth, metal, and wood are represented in each room. That balance translates into a feeling of warmth and comfort, so even strangers feel at home.
You may or may not believe that this can work, but by re-arranging the house and the rooms according to the teachings of Feng Shui, the homeowner can't help but engage the Law of Attraction by staying focused on the successful outcome. That is, after all, why he or she is making the effort!
One of my favorite instructional books on the subject is "The Western Guide to Feng Shui." This book shows how most homeowners can merely re-arrange objects they already own, although – as with any staging - they might need to buy some small objects in order to inject colors and objects representative of each of the elements.
Have I used this successfully myself? Yes - and I was amazed at the results.
