Lake Oconee area - New GOOD SAMARITAN HOSPITAL construction is well underway! The new hospital will be located at 5401 Lake Oconee Parkway, near the intersection of Hwy 44 and Carey Station Road.
The new hospital will enhance Greene County's appeal to individuals and businesses looking to re-locate in the Lake Oconee area, generating jobs in the health care industry, as well as providing great health care options for people in the area.
During a ground breaking ceremony on August 17, 2012, Rep. Mickey Channell told the crowd “It will, without a doubt, be one of the finest Critical Access Hospitals in the state of Georgia. This gift to our community by St. Mary’s and Catholic Health East will ensure a healthy future for all who live, work and visit here,” he stated. “Quality local health care is vital from both a quality of life perspective and an economic development perspective."
The construction on this new, state-of-the-art facility began on June 25, 2012 and is well underway.
