White House Easter Egg Roll 2013
The 135th annual White House Easter Egg Roll will take place on Monday April 1, 2013 from 8a.m. to 5p.m. on the White House south lawn. The event has been a tradition since 1878 when President Rutherford B. Hayes first invited children to roll eggs on the White House grounds. The event is open to children ages 12 and under and their families. Along with rolling Easter eggs there will be sports, cooking classes, storytelling, and musical performances.
Tickets will be distributed free of charge via an online lottery system. The lottery will open on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 10 a.m. and close on Monday, February 25, 2013 at 10 a.m. To apply for tickets visit www.recreation.gov the lottery winners will be contacted on March 1, 2013.
