Good day y’all! When the days call for spending time indoors, let me just tell you about the wonderful resource that is the North Richland Hills TX public library.
CHILDREN’S LIBRARY
We usually spend most of our time in the children’s library(after using the revolving door a few times) playing 
and relaxing in the corner. I have really enjoyed being able to get different books for my son so that he doesn’t get too bored with the ones that we have at home. His interests change from trains to construction equipment to astronauts practically week to week and so it’s nice to be able to borrow books for free to match his changing likes. He even understands about having to maintain a quiet voice and whispers from the moment we walk in the door, lol. Although the main lobby echoes. Ask me how I know.
RESOURCE CENTER and MAKERSPACE
Upstairs is the resource area of the North Richland Hills library. They have a counter where you can get help with resource books should you be writing a paper or doing research and you can request materials from other libraries. There are also computers to be able to use the internet if you don’t have access to one at your home. The Maker Spot is a newer resource where you can use a long arm quilting machine, 3D printers, robotics, training on equipment and software and more.
KIDS STORY TIME
For kids they also have story time. For toddlers up to 36 months it’s on Tuesdays from 10 to 10:30 and 3-6 years on Wednesdays from 10:45 to 11:15. They also have a chess club for kids older than 6 years old that meets every Tuesday from 4 to 6:30. The NRH library has a community room that features Pictures and Popcorn, different movies for kids and adults each Sat at 2pm in the community room.
FREE MOVIE RENTALS
One valuable resource that we have been lately taking full advantage of, particularly the week I was sick with the flu, is free movie rentals. You can check out up to 10 movies at a time per card and these aren’t just movies that are really old. They have new releases! In an effort to save money and have more family time together we got rid of our Direct TV and it’s great to be able to still see new movies without the huge payment every month.
BOOKS ON CD Another thing that I love about the North Richland Hills library is the books on CD. My husband introduced me to this when we took a 16 hour road trip over Christmas. I usually bring a book to read or have one on my Ipad but he popped one into the CD player and I was transfixed. It really made the time go by on the road. I was able to focus on the scenery but also have a story going on at the same time. It sure made those hours go by. There are so many people that can’t read in a moving vehicle(my husband) and so having a good book to listen to makes up for that.
ONLINE RESOURCES
Want to learn another language? Online at the NRH library website you can! You will have to input your card number but learn French, Italian, Czech (mine that I’m trying to learn right now!) Farsi, Korean and so much more! All for FREE. There is a translate feature also so you can type what you want in English and it will translate it for you into the language you want. There is a basic course and a more involved course (at least in the Czech platform) so you can learn basic conversation and then get more in depth.

Nice to meet you! Buy or sell a house with me! I used to know a little more Czech when we visited there but I will have to relearn a lot of it. It is a difficult language. When we were there people really liked that we tried to converse in Czech and would be more helpful to us since we were trying. That's my Capt. Morgan pose at the Castle Spillberk in Brno.
The other online resources the North Richland Hills library has are Ancestry library edition, academic resources, and another personal favorite, E-Books and E-Audiobooks downloads! YES! You can check (Czech,lol) out books onto your Apple, Android, Kindle or Nook reader directly from home. Just go to the download page with your library card number handy. They do have a certain amount of copies and so you may have to wait to download a copy if the book is very popular.
I think I have probably convinced you thus far that living in North Richland Hills is a very advantageous. We have truly awesome resources and recreation!
