48 Comments on The Other Side of Staging...Destaging...It Aint' Pretty!
Kathy,
It is amazing isn't it, that things do not want to go back into their containers.. it's like they grew !
Kathy-I don't think the avg person has a clue what your business entails. Sleep well
Kathy, the nice part about our job is we sell the house and someone else gets to pack it up and move away
We see some staging here but not quite an entire house of stuff! Go rest.
I guess I need to invent a de-staging kit. Patent pending already? lol
What?! It doesn't all just go magically back in place lol :)! I have a blog post to write about my move and your destaging post has inspired me a bit..not sure when I will get to write it, but soon lol :)!
I had to laugh when I ready this... I often wonder how things don't fit any more. Comforters, sleeping bags and many other things as well! Good luck and get some rest.
Very interesting! I never really thought about "de-staging"! I too wonder why things never seem to pack back up the way they once were! LOL :)
Kathy, wow! Sounds like you could have used a moving van for this one.
Kathy, this title reminds me of going to beauty parlor once for getting ready and next time, for removing make-up! And you said it right - it is not pretty!
De-staging looks and sounds like as much fun as taking down Christmas decorations after the holidays and packing them away!
Oh gosh, yes, this seem to me like unpacking - not the most fun. Sorry about your nails. Now, if the house has sold, this is prob. better vs. depressing when it hasn't.
I'm exhausted just reading this :)
Hopefully the destaging work is compensated for by a great result from the intial staging. The end result hopefully justifies all the work afterwards.
Kathy, as I read this, I can just imagine how stressful you were. Despite the broken nail, you were still able to blog a funny and interesting destaging story.
Kathy - Sometimes I feel as if I've been run over by a Mack truck after a destage. Our job is very physical. Carting bins in, packing, sorting, wrapping, squishing bedding into packaging, lugging artwork - it's exhausting. Throw in some flights of stairs, and I'm beyond popped by the end of it all.
Oh my gosh. It must be a NIGHTMARE. We have lots of weekend homes that sellers sell vacant. I always doll them up a little and it wears me out just doing that. I can only imagine what YOU do!! I'm tired just thinking about it!
Kathy,
Hope you got a great's nice sleep:-) It takes a lot of effort to MOVE, whether it's the sellers moving out or the stagers "destaging".
All the best, Michelle
