Do you ever wonder what to do with expired medicines?

I recently had to clear out an apartment for a client, in amidst all the furniture and clothing, was a medicine cabinet packed with old medicines, some were prescription pain killers and other drugs. I did not want these to get into the hands of kids, or into the water system.

I thought I could just take them to any pharmacy and they would know how to dispose of them correctly. I was wrong; in Chester county there are only a few places where you can take drugs for disposal, I ended up taking them to Phoenixville. But I noticed today when I was in the Tredyfrin Township building, located in Chesterbrook at 1100 Duportail Road, that Tredyffrin Township have installed a drop box for old and unwanted medicines.

Drug drop box

One of the ways kids get their hands on drugs is going through the medicine cabinet at home, and they experiment with what they find. So by dropping off your old or expired drugs here you can easily make sure that you are doing the right thing.

That is very interesting, Nick and Trudy. I will have to start looking for places here in Scottsdale to drop medications off. Although I wouldn't have many, I know plenty of people who would have need of this. Thank you for the thought!

Actually, Rob our police station and township building are one and this is one the police station side of the building, so technically it may be the police who arranged it.

Linda and Cary till you actually need something it is rarely in your conciousness, only when you need it do you try to find it. I always though you could just take it to any pharmacy, but they don't want them, so this is a good idea.
