Microsoft and Yahoo and me?

By
Real Estate Agent with Realty Executives

Wow, that is super interesting news to read this week!  Apparently Microsoft isn't comfortable having Google take over the world?

I work for a great company that believes in high quality control over what us as agents input into our multiple listing service.  Because of this, we as agents are not allowed to enter our listings into our MLS.  I just finished reading a blog ranking the top ways consumers search for listings.  The list was incredibly long.  I wish the gals in our office would be required to help us input our listings into postlets, craigslist etc in addition to inputing our listings into the MLS.

Our company just signed on a huge advertising deal with Realtor.com, but honestly I think they are still a little behind the learning curve when it comes to an online presence.  I just read in the paper today that online advertising is going to double in the next four years from $4B to $8B (yes thats Billion, but that is ALL advertising not just real estate.)  That still is a huge jump!!  Anway, there's been a lot of focus on online advertising especially with all the talk about Microsoft buying Yahoo this week.  It makes me realize my focus here is not in vain!!

May be a good idea to pick up some stock.  Just hope is will go as high as Google.

I'm looking forward to Google having some competition! This merger (if it happens) may be the only way a company can get big enough and have enough clout to take them on.
