The Preserve at Misty Creek Country Club Homes for Sale, Sarasota Florida
When touring Sarasota golf clubs in search of a new home to purchase, there are some that are very solid at delivering the experience you would expect from a country club. There are those that shine with the typical pomp and circumstance and then there are those that fail to deliver. Some leave you wondering how they can stay in business at all, but rarely do you come across a club that is a true diamond in the rough and one that provides an overwhelming value for the price. Though I feel it is a bit of a stretch to call Misty Creek a country club, it is without a doubt a fantastic 18 hole golf course. What Misty Creek has is what a golf enthusiast desires most, a well manicured, scenic and challenging golf course. The closest course in the Sarasota and Manatee area that offers similar surroundings that I can compare Misty Creek to is The Concession. As some of you may think that statement is completely absurd, have a little patience and hear me out.
The Concession is a “wilderness” course meaning the course itself is lined with natural vegetation on both sides of the fairway. The same holds true with Misty Creek. When you do come close to the homes in the community, there typically is a lake or wetland preserve between the fairway and the homes although most of the fairways in Misty Creek are completely surrounded by a woodland preserve that is home to many resident bald eagles. The Concession abounds with wildlife as does Misty Creek. Misty Creek is a member of the National Audubon Society. The club is conscious about the type of fertilizers and pesticides used on the course and in the neighborhood and it is definitely a “Green” community because of it. If someone asked me in conversation what I thought of Misty Creek I would tell them it is a fantastic community of well cared for homes, nice sized lots, and beautiful landscaping. Some of the homes in the community sit on parcels that are down-right breathtaking. The Misty Creek Golf Course is stunning to say the least. When it comes to natural beauty I have not found another course other than Misty Creek and The Concession that share the same beauty and difficulty of play. Though the greens at Misty Creek are fairly sandy and extremely hard rolled, the fairways are lush and green, the water hazards are surely teaming with member-owned golf balls, and all the sand traps have been completely redone. One of the best ways to gauge the quality of a community is by the amount of homes that are for sale in it. Of the 300 homes for sale in Misty Creek, at any one time you will likely only see 10 or so Preserve at Misty Creek homes for sale. This compares to the over 60 properties available at Heritage Oaks located less than a mile down the road.
The dues at Misty Creek are extremely affordable, they are equity memberships, and the initiation fee for the membership is $1000 with monthly dues running $310 to $430 a month. You simply will not find a better deal if you love to play Golf on a challenging “wilderness” course. Of all the gated golf communities in Sarasota Florida I would place Misty Creek in the top 3 for both the course and the community. It is a very very nice gated Sarasota golf community that features some of the best Sarasota Florida real estate and a pleasure to call home.
