R is for Re-Blog when you see an awesome post in the Rain!

Reblogger Donna Foerster
Real Estate Agent with HomeSmart Realty Group

What is the value of a reblog? Why would you do it?

I reblog for several reasons. (1) I think the post is good information that I want to share with other members of Active Rain.  (2) The post has good consumer information that I want to share with the public. (3) I want to help the writer to be more visible. (4) Bonus: When you reblog, you get 25 Active Rain points and so does the original blogger!

Do you REBLOG? Why not?

R is for Re-Blog when you see an awesome post in the Rain!

reblogOne of my favorite pieces of Active Rain is reading through the blog rolls during the day.  As we all know there are hundreds of posts that are available for us to peruse.

Typically it helps me catch up on the latest and greatest that is going on in our industry. Sometimes these posts are more regional and do not necessarily apply to my local market. THEN there are those gems that our awesome community members come up with... yes those are the "I wish I had thought of that..." or "That would be super my buyer/seller/prospect..." or even.."more agents need to know about this..."

www.forsalehomesearch.comActive rain gives us an incredible opportunity/option for "Re-Blogging" these posts.  So get out and click that button and "Re-Blog" for the folks that may have missed this the first time around that it may immeasurably help.  "Re-Blog" for those buyers/sellers/prospects to read on your own blog too!  Either way remember that in this case the "Re-Blog" is the sincerest form of recognition/flattery you can offer to the author and yes they all appreciate it too!

Questions?  Check out the Active Rain help center or post a question below and I will do my best to answer it as well!

Good Luck blogging in the Rain!

Nope. If I see a blog that inspires, I use that blog i na link and expand on it. Add more to it, find other blog posts to tie in with graphics, images, video embeds that make it a worth while read. Too many where's the beef or piggy back on another's work out there. Daylight, time's a wastin'. Sing your own songs, not covers works for me. It's not about the points, it about greater market share of listings, sales and increasing your knowledge. When I see a reblog, that already read the first time, just keep looking for something on the blog roster with new and helpful, different. The comments on the original are the thread to follow, not the reblogger that should be turning off, disabling out of etiquette.

Donna, I believe that re-blogs are helpful.  For example, you reblogged a blog I did not see that had good info, so I went back to the original blog.

Pat & Steve~ Just my humble opinion, but why re-write something that was written well the first time? Just share it! :-)

Hi Donna - I'm a pretty infrequent re-blogger, usually only when I find something I want to share with local consumers on my outside blog. I have done it in the past for the other reasons you mention, but not very often. I don't disagree with the practice at all, but just haven't really made it top of mind.

Hi Donna, I reblog occasionally but not very often.  I'm often inspired by other bloggers and will link to the post only if I want to direct the conversation in a different way but still pay homage to the original writer.  I do always appreciate people who do reblog though because otherwise I might not have seen it.

This was a good reblog and you've listed excellent reasons to do so.

Silvia~ We each have determine what is the right balance.

Frank & Karen~ I believe it's a real compliment to reblog someone else's post.

Dick~ It's not for everybody, but it's nice that we can do it. I tend to reblog what "other" professionals write, for example posts about staging.

Mona~ Sometimes I'm inspired and sometimes I just reblog. Debbie Reynolds inspires me a lot. I even started a new group because of her AR challenge!
