Remodel Almost Done!

Updating your Phoenix HomeThe last two weeks we've had master bath remodeling going on at our home.  The past three days I've been working from my home office as much as possible to keep tabs on the workers and project. I've had tile guys, drywall guys, shower guys, painters, you name it in the house. All trusted partners that do work for our clients and us when needed so I know their work.  That's half the project - trusting them to do their best!

Thankfully today was the last day of having somebody come to the house.  We still need to do some painting but that's something Gary and I like doing - yes we really do! I've got one more appointment and then I've got a date at Home Depot with Gary to pick out paint colors and buy some little samples. Guess what we're doing this weekend?  Well ok, he's painting and I'm working with clients but you know how that goes in our business.

The end is in sight and I'm so looking forward to getting the house back in order!  The closets are taken apart and I've got clothes everywhere. Getting ready in the morning has been a bit of a trick this past 2 weeks.  Plus sharing a guest bath with stuff everywhere is, well, a mess! And the pets are so done with being 'locked up' and not being in on all the action of people coming and going and having the run of the house.  They want 'their' house back too!

There is something to be said for having an orderly home and I so want my home and life back in order!

Hi Anna - We had a bit of a remodel done this year, due to some very strange water damage, and it was really disruptive, so we understand what it was like for you and know the relief of getting back to normal. Enkoy your new bath!

AB, We did that with both our baths over the last few years.  HUGE difference in the appearance of the home, and we know our agent lessons, nothing overly wild that will hurt resale later :)

We understand,,,just so happens we both like to paint if we had the time.  In no time you will have a lovely bathroom to enjoy, and so glad it is almost over for you. A

Anna, Been there done that and frankly it is miserable. The mess and the dirt they bring in, and the topsy turvy house is almost too much to bear.

Anna, I've been dreading doing some much needed work here - most importantly, new flooring.  How do two people have so much stuff?  I'm sure you'll be really glad when it's all done and I'm sure it'll be  lovely.

Hi Anna, I hope you'll share your photos.  You and your husband are very brave doing your own painting with new tile-I for one, will touch up but that's it.  Enjoy it!

Can't wait to see photos!! We're on the home stretch too on some bathroom remodeling - and living in a construction zone is certainly an experience! :). Our cats go into hiding each morning and don't reappear til the workers leave for the day.....and the dog is SURE they are really here to play with her. LOL

Good for you!  I am anxious to see the photos of this project too!  We did some repainting (actually we hired someone to paint - my husband and I don't like painting) and it almost drove us crazy until it done and we could put things back in order.  Have a great weekend!

Anna~ I don't envy you. We bought our home new construction just 6 years ago, so no home projects in our immediate future. (Unless we win the lottery, then I would have the basement finished and the backyard deck enlarged.)

Hi Anna-I feel your pain, just finished replacing all my windows. So lovely having everything covered in dust and soot plus having every flying bug in the hood inside your house!

You will have before and after photos for us right?? Hope you learned that from all us stagers here on AR! ;) I understand the mess. Getting all new carpet throughout the house this past fall where EVERYTHING had to come out, including the closets, was a nightmare.

Anna, I hope that your life and workspace can get back to normal soon, I know how hard it can be to concentrate on work with so many distractions.

Belinda - I am looking forward to the finishing touches. Went shopping yesterday and found a few!

Dick - it kind of puts a hitch in the git-a-long.  But it's temporary thankfully! Order is a good thing!

Bliz - yes that's where we went as well.  Just about anybody could walk in a fall in love - with whatever color scheme they prefer.

Jennifer too late for before photos!  When I get time I'll take  a few after photos once all is in place.

Alexandria - it was just a little touch up and I went shopping instead!!

Richard and Beth - agreed!

Erin we're going neutral on walls and tile - with a teal green, cream and grey accessories.  Which I can change out if I want a change.

Debbie - I am ready to be back in order for sure. Hoping today is the day!

Karen - not done yet.  Pics to follow later when all the accessories (the fun part) are in place.

Juli - flooring is worse as everything has to come out of so many rooms.  We did that last year so I know what you're dealing with.  Good luck.

Tammy - I get that one. Took me a year or so to get around to making some changes.

Joanna -  my Mom let me start painting as a kid to bring out my creative side I think - so it's more fun for me than not. Plus - this was a small space and Gary handled it all.  I went shopping and had to show homes.

Nancy - I had to laugh at that one!  Cat is in hiding and has been all week or so. Dog is sure everybody is here to play with him!!

Joy - I am married to an aeronautical engineer so he LOVES puzzles and figuring things out.  Seriously - he thinks it's all fun!!   Which makes is fun - for the most part other than the mess.

Donna - our home was built in 1974 so there are always projects in the works since we've been here since 1998.  Kind of fun to make changes!!

Margaret - will do!

Marco - I know that one as well. We replaced every door and window in 05 and that was interesting!

Shar - most don't know that I've been a decorater/stager for years.....got it from my Mom so it's just in my blood.  I love color and textures plus throw in some feng shui.  Fun!

Bob - somehow I manage to just close my office door and let the noise go on around me.  But I am glad we're on the home stretch.  I want my house back!!

Anna, this brings back memories of same project except we did our one & only bath while we went on vacation. Trust!

A few years later we added half bath & did most of work ourselves except plumbing. Then we had contractor install new kitchen. Done!
