I wondered if you would do a tribute to your dad.  It sure helps to write about our loved ones and with today's technology it is a great way to preserve your memories for your dad's grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  

Did he grow up in Queens?  He was very fortunate to have a daughter like yourself who gave so much of her time and energy to be with him in his final months and weeks!  

Elyse, I'm sorry for your loss. I loss my dad 37 years ago and I wish I could have had more memories. Rejoice about all the time and smiles you shared...

So Sorry as well for your loss, hopefully he life to the fullest. We are preparing for my father in law who is 84 but seems to be going down hill.

Sorry to hear about your father.  Just keep the memories and remember, it is never goodbye, but see you again soon.

Elyse, Your dad would be proud of the way you have handled everything. You are very strong and have taken on a huge challenge. His illness, your mom's move and taking care of your own family, shows a tremendous amount  of strength. And in between it all, you managed to sell my friend's condo in Florida.

It's difficult to lose a parent........I've thought about you often since I heard the news.  Is your Mom in Florida with you now?

Good evening Elyse, what a beautiful tribute to your father and he sounded like a wonderful man.  As long as you have memories ... he will be with you always. 

Elyse, I had not seen your posts, and wondered what was going on!   So sad for you, and virtual hugs my friend!    It is hard to say goodbye to our loving parents, and luckily you were able to enjoy your Dad into his later years.    Sounds like a wonderful man to always remember.

I am sorry Elyse.  I don't know you yet, but I love the memory you have left for your father.  Cherish those memories. 

Hi Elyse: No matter how much time we have to prepare for a parent's passing, it's never enough time. My thoughts are with you. It does get easier as the years go by, but sometimes I still grieve for my mother and that's OK. It's not bad to miss a person you loved.
