Happy Oscar Sunday!

It’s Sunday, February 24, 2013

It was a windy night and the air is crisp and clean this morning
A picture perfect postcard image
Like a freshly staged home for sale, Hollywood is ready
to accept guests to showcase its gleaming stars,
a strong foundation built on experience & creativity in a variety of fields not always visible,
and
that so important “WOW” factor

that makes us go to the movies to escape,
to remember,
to laugh and to cry

It’s Movie Night in Hollywood!

So whether you are on the red carpet at the Dolby Theatre,
with friends at an Oscar-themed party
or in your living room sitting comfortably in your pjs with your favorite beverage

Hi Michael - As always, Mary has planned her whole evening around watching the spectacle. I, on the other hand, will be somewhere else in our house, most likely looking for laughs and amazement on the web or reading a good book. Andafterwards , in about 30 seconds, she'll tell me what happened. Everybody wins.

I will be in my pajamas on this blustery Sunday night watching all those gorgeous dresses walk the red carpet and thinking about my favorite movies-I ususally go to an Oscar party but I have a terrible cold so I will be home with my husband for the evening and we'll drink champagne and eat popcorn to celebrate Michael!

Mark - we are very fortunate to live in Southern California.

Belinda - earlier today I showed properties in Pasadena to a couple relocating from the Midwest -- goodbye snow blowers!

Dick - does Mary deliver the results in a fast-forward method? If she can -- wow!

Alexandra and Ron - some people throw some pretty lavish Academy Award parties

Roger - the television will be on and I'll be there.

Chris Ann - we are having a beautful day so the attire should look extra fabulous as it approaches the red carpet.

Laura - looking forward to Jimmy Kimmel in about 45 mins at 10PM on the Pacific Coast.

Joy - I drifted in and out of the room --- well --- if we equate this show to a home going on the market for sale --- there could be a lot more editing/deleting in place before the door was opened ---- too much "stuff" that needed to go --- I liked some of the acceptance speeches(especially Daniel Day Lewis' who said he was up for the role of Margaret Thatcher and Meryl Streep was Spielberg's first choice for Lincoln).

Debbie - and some I missed, I still want to see.

Michael, I know many people anticipate watching the Oscars every year...but I just happen to not be one of them. I wouldn't even know they were taking place today if I wasn't invited to my first Oscar party! I didn't go because we had prior commitments, although I have to admit we probably wouldn't have gone even if we didn't...I know it doesn't sound very nice, but it's the truth. :)

Hi Leilani -- the Academy Awards is not for everyone -- I understand that -- the ceremony, the parties, the traffic --- all seems to gather lots of attention here -- the entertainment business is a significant source of business in Los Angeles and throughout California.
