The long awaited USDA update to rural towns will go into effect March 28th and many local towns are affected.
List of previously eligible now ineligible towns are listed below. The following towns in Massachusetts & Rhode Island will be ineligible as of March 28, 2013:
Massachusetts: Barnstable, Bourne, Dennis, Falmouth, Harwich, Mashpee, Sandwich, Yarmouth, North Adams, Acushnet, Easton, Mansfield, Norton, Raynham, Rehoboth, Swansea, Taunton, Ipswich,Greenfield, Acton, Ashland, Groton, Holliston, Hopkinton, Hudson, Maynard, Pepperell, Palmer, Wilbraham, Belchertown, Bellingham, Foxboro, Medfield, Medway, Wrentham, Bridgewater, Carver, Duxbury, East Birdgewater, Kingston, Lakeville, Middleboro, Pembroke, Plymouth, Wareham, Athol, Charlton, Dudley, Gardner, Grafton, Holden, Leicester, Lunenburg, Northbridge, Oxford, Southbridge, Spencer, Upton, Uxbridge.
Rhode Island: Coventry, Portsmouth, Tiverton, Burrillville, Cranston, Cumberland, Johnston, Lincoln, North Smithfield, Scituate, Smithfield, Narragansett. North Kingstown, South Kingstown, Westerly.
