Revitalizing Downtown San Antonio!

Great news for the downtown San Antonio area!! My office is located just minutes from downtown San Antonio. In the past six or seven years there has been a resurgence of interest in living in downtown San Antonio or just south of downtown. The areas have come alive within the past five years with lofts, refurbished historical homes, trendy restaurants, artist studios, unique gift shops and much more! The area has become more pet friendly, bike friendly and is attracting many people to seriously consider moving into the downtown area. To the west of downtown San Antonio, there has been an old abandoned peanut factory processing plant that was an eyesore for years. As you drove down IH 35 past downtown, the graffitied eyesore was a sight to behold.

In a recent article in the Express News the plans were announced for the development of a 98 unit residential complex in that very location! The Peanut Factory Lofts are going to be conveniently located within minutes from the downtown campus of the University of Texas at San Antonio. Half of the units will be devoted to student housing. The apartments will range from 600 to 1900 square feet. As new residents discover the uniqueness of living adjacent to the downtown area; they will start to explore the older, established neighborhoods in the immediate vicinity. Many of these homes are older Craftsman style homes with high ceilings, hardwood floors and lots of windows. Its a great move towards the purchase of these homes and the revitalization and refurbishing of some unique homes and neighborhoods. My office is conveniently located south downtown and we know these older neighborhoods quite well. I am looking forward to the next few years when an area often overlooked gets some revitalization and resurgence.

If you are looking for a unique place to live south of downtown San Antonio, call my office 210-532-8774.

Beatrice, I love to see this type of revitalization.  I think it adds great value to the area, while keeping some of the history of the area.

Beatrice, what wonderful news. I can't think of any other city where the revitalization of the downtown area would make urban living so pleasurable.
