My day was not a waste!

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty-Fayetteville

Today was Team Meeting day for our office. While most offices do some type of meeting, our office does Caravan after the meeting. This is where the agents get together and view office listings, and also give feedback to the listing agent and owners of the home.
Many people think this may be a waste of time and if I am honest I sometimes  have thought that myself...however today during caravan I thought about it and realized one of the homes was in a subdivision that I had never been too although I am very familiar with that area. Also a couple of the agents are new and had not even been to that side of town to show homes. We saw three completely different homes in three different price points and seeing them in person is much different that seeing them online.
The conversations while traveling are what really make caravan so great. Maybe because its such a relaxed environment but agents will ask questions they might not ask in the office. They get to see “seasoned” agents in action when they take sign calls and convert, or hear when we have an “issue” that needs our attention. I rarely miss caravan and today made me realize why.

I most like caravan because it is an opportunity to interact with agents in the market place.

Shawna, I preview a lot of homes as a result of doing caravans early in my career. I do have to say, I know my inventory well. It's worth it to actually go see homes.

David, yes interaction is always one of the benefits for me too!

Thanks Jerry...I need to establish this habit!

Tammy, I agree...photos do not always do justice to homes, and they can sometimes be very misleading too!

Melissa, yes very interesting conversations!

So true, caravan can be annoying to fit into our day, but I never regret going, when I do!

Shawna, stay with it! I think it is an effective listing tool in listing presentations to state that many of your agents will tour this home upon it being listed and that they will provide valuable feedback and expand the outreach for selling their home.

Yes, caravans are important on many levels and I need to make a better effort this year. The conversations are very enlightening.
