“Dealing with an Unethical Real Estate Agent”
Greed is sometimes tempting, but are you willing to sell you soul? My wife and I were out over the weekend looking at properties that would be a good candidate for a flip.
On Friday, I received a call from a Realtor I have never met before. He said he had heard that I was always in the market for a great buy and he had one. We set up an appointment to see the property the next day.
I knew we were in trouble, when he showed up in a beat up pickup with the license plate taped to the back window. After introductions were made, we proceeded to attempt to get into the house. Finally after 10 minutes, we were in.
As we were being shown the property he kept telling us, that he controlled the property. What does that mean? Do you have a listing? Well not exactly. The owner is in the hospital and the son asked me to start showing the property, as his mom, is in her last days. I was stunned!
My wife’s only comment, “Are you kidding me?” I’m not going to tell you what I wanted to do to this person. It is hard to believe, that in this day and age, crap like this still goes on. I wouldn't buy something from this guy, if he had the last property on earth.
We abandon our house hunting for the day, decided on a movie instead. We saw, “Safe Haven”, a really touching story. Our day turned out better after all.
