Union County has long been a place where custom builders offer high quality homes in beautiful neighborhoods. Some of the luxury neighborhoods are gated with upscale amenity centers. Others don’t have gates or clubhouses just luxurious homes on beautiful lots.
Custom building virtually disappeared after 2008. Many of the upscale neighborhoods remained quiet during the recession and prices fell. In 2012 however, these neighborhoods saw more activity. It appears that the luxury market in Union County is coming back.

Marvin Creek is the most active luxury neighborhood in Marvin NC. The neighborhood features stone and brick homes on three quarter acre lots. An amenity center with resort-style pool and clubhouse is the heart of the neighborhood. Over half of the sales in 2012 were new construction. The median closed price increased 8.2% in 2012. Providence Downs South is a gated community in the Marvin area. Built by a variety of custom builders, neighborhood homes have European styling on large wooded lots. Highgate is a luxury neighborhood with a great location in Weddington adjacent to South Charlotte and its amenities. The neighborhood’s winding streets are sheltered by mature trees and beautifully landscaped. Although the community doesn’t have an amenity center, it has a very active social life. Longview is a gated golf course community located between Weddington and Marvin. Divided into two villages with different price points, Longview residents can enjoy The Club at Longview, which includes a 10,000 square foot Activity Center. The Activity Center includes a Youth Lodge with programming, a swimming pool and tennis courts. Half of Longview’s sales in 2012 were new construction.
