If there was ever a home where I felt I could just hang up my jacket and call it a day, it was this wonderful little place. I confess, I’m an eclectic when it comes to homes. I love new, I love old. I love modern, I love old world charm.
About an hour south of Seattle, through Tacoma, over the Narrows Bridges is one of my favorite little towns, Gig Harbor. I love the area and have enjoyed many a good time over the years on the Key Peninsula in Home, Washington and further down the road to Lakebay and Longbranch.
I was out on tour last Thursday with my friend and coworker Chanel Studebaker. We spent the day together visiting clients, talking social media and marketing, and stopped by to visit some open houses.
What I love about the Pacific Northwest, especially around Puget Sound is the fact there’s so many areas not far from Seattle, Tacoma, Everett, or Olympia that are pristine, out there away from it all, and yet within an hours drive to the Megalopolis.
Even on a blustery rainy day in Washington it’s beautiful. And there’s nothing like being inside warm and cozy with a wonderful view of the water. I particularly loved this place because the owner has such impeccable taste in antiques. I’m not a collector, per say... but a big appreciator.
Like I said my tastes are eclectic. I’m like my cousin Susan when it comes to my place. She used to say many years ago, our decor is more Early Attic.
What a wonderful way to spend the day. Though I wouldn’t want to commute from Taylor Bay everyday to Seattle, it sure would be a great 2nd home and an awesome retreat.
