Wall Springs Park - Palm Harbor Florida - Where The Fish Mingle

Wall Springs Park in Palm Harbor Florida is indeed the place where the fish mingle. Ronnie and I took a walk up to the park late yesterday afternoon and were amazed at the hundreds of fish that were in the spring section. The spring feeds out into Boggy Bayou and as the tide changes, the fish go in and out between the fresh spring waters and the salt water of Boggy Bayou.

Yesterday there were hundreds of fish! More than we have seen there in a long time. Mullet, sheephead, snook, red fish, needlefish and so many others. Some of the smaller fish that were not mullet kept jumping out of the water to flee the hungry snook that were obviously chasing them!

We are so lucky to have Wall Springs Park here in Palm Harbor Florida. It is a wonderful place to walk to from our home in Crystal Beach via the Pinellas Trail. Barbara-Jo, with lots of fish, bet Ronnie was in heaven.   Hope you both were able to go fishing for dinner!

Actually, on the spring side of the park, you are NOT allowed to fish.

Although the birds, naturally, do go fishing there..............we go there to see the fish on our long walks.

Good thing you're not allowed to fish there!  These environments are very important as sources of fish because so many fish spawn there.  Which in turn feed more fish and wildlife, so it's a good thing they are protected.

You are so right, Georgie. These fish know that they can spawn in the springs and only the birds attempt to catch them there.
