Golf Season Is Almost Here
As I look outside at my backyard covered with snow, I am starting to get the itch to get out on the golf course and hit my golf clubs. Unfortunately, I'm looking at least two months plus until I can get onto a golf course here in the Chicago area.
If you are already tired of this Chicago winter and you want to play real Winter Golf, then pack your bags and take a plane to Palm Springs, California, Scottsdale, Arizona or somewhere else warm. I'm taking my yearly girl's long weekend at the end of April, and I am counting the days.
If your budget or time does not allow for these travels, then I recommend that you at least improve your golf game by taking advantage of the Golf Dome in Buffalo Grove, Illinois. It is located at 801 Mchenry Road, ½ mile west of Buffalo Grove Road and Old Mchenry Road. It is open until April 6th. Check out the hours and prices below.
Now in the 8th year of operation, the Buffalo Grove Golf and Sports Center is recognized as one of the top indoor golf learning centers in the country. The Golf and Sports Center offers a temperature controlled, realistic practice environment suitable for practicing full shots and the short game.
Also for anyone that might be interested in working on your game over the winter, I recommend that you contact Matt Mitchell, the assistant pro for Hillcrest Country Club, for private golf lessons. He is teaching at the dome this winter and is an excellent golf instructor. I have taken lessons from him, and he has made improvements to my game in just one lesson. .
