Welcome to the 2/3/08 edition of Sunday Bloggy Sunday.
Here are some of the highlights for the week for "Active Rain Addicts":
SUBSCRIBERS: We increased our subscriber base this week from 546 to 566. Welcome new members!
POSTS: We ended last week with 4896 posts and increased this week to 5185 posts. Thank you to all those that contributed.
MILESTONE ALERT: We have crossed the 5000 comment mark this week. This is an amazing feat considering that the group was started less than 6 months ago.
ANNOUNCEMENT: The February Inspired By Song! contest was announced this week. The theme for this month is "Inspired By Love Songs."
Sunday Bloggy Sunday was delayed due to the fact that yesterday was Super Bowl Sunday.
The featured posts this week all revolve around blogging tips. I think that all three of them are a must-read!
Why You Need to Blog About Neighborhoods - Lisa Heindel is one of the best Localism bloggers on Active Rain. If this is an area that you're looking to expand upon, I would strongly suggest reading Lisa's story in this post and some very helpful tips.
How to generate and track backlinks for your Active Rain profile - A few basic SEO tips - Did you know that your comments can actually increase your Google rankings? Jason Crouch shares some very simple, yet helpful tips to ensure that you are getting the most Google juice that you can when you are making comments.
Formula One Blogging or Blogging for Success - Are you concerned that your point totals on Active Rain are hurting your Google rankings? Blog recap for the week ending 2/2/08:ACTIVE RAIN
ACTIVE RAIN
A Loophole In The Points System That Needs To Be Closed - Did you know that you can post photos to Localism and receive points for it? Many people do, and some are using their photos as a way to climb the rankings with points since there is no limit on the amount that can be added for points. Bob Stewart has said that this loophole is about to be closed soon though.
CONTESTS
Inspired By Song! February Contest Announcement! - Since February is associated with Valentine's Day, we thought that it would be appropriate to tie the holiday into the contest. This month's theme is "Inspired By Love Songs."
LOCAL EXPERT Contest Thoughts & Suggestions - The new group LOCAL EXPERT is in the middle of a five-week long contest which involves building a blog version of a relocation package. Read some helpful tips if you are thinking about, or are already involved in the contest.
REALTORS® and Long Island Real Estate
We Are INDEPENDENT Contractors! - Do you farm a neighborhood? Does your office have "protected" farm areas? This post was inspired by a situation that Kim Carpenter is going through with regard to farming in an area that someone else "thinks" that they own. Read about why the words "protected" and "farm area" shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath.
Long Island Homeowners - Exclusive Listings - Do you have exclusive listings in your area? Is there any benefit to the homeowners that sell their home exclusively through one broker? Read about how some brokers are telling their clients that they will be on MLS, but in reality, they may as well be exclusive to that particular broker.
Hauppauge Long Island Homes ~ Market Trends Report ~ January 2008 - After reading that consumers are really interested in market reports from a number of other Rainers, I've decided to start doing monthly reports instead of the quarterly reports that I've been doing. This is the first in a series that will come out later in the week with the same format.

Adam - As always, terrific job on this recap post. I missed Cindy's post - I will check it out! Talk to you soon, my friend.
