Hannah's Hope - When strangers come together the world gets better!

Hannah's Hope is a Facebook page dedicated to a small dog, born with multiple deformities.  She has no knee caps in her rear legs, a condition caused by canine dwarfism.

She is also diagnosed with Hypothyroidism which is a clinical condition resulting from a lowered production and release of hormones by the thyroid gland.

But this isn't really about Hannah; rather, about the people who came together to help her.  As I write this, her page at Hannah's Hope has been "liked" 4013 times.  Most are complete strangers from probably every state in America and many countries around the world.  People who chose to step up because they care, people with the "Mom, baseball and apple pie" attitude that used to be so pervasive in our culture, but is not so prevalent anymore.

The original owner sought help from Steve Williams who runs Furreverhomes Rescue in Foley, AL.  He in turn enlisted the aid of Elizabeth Clark a Veterinary Technician at Canal Road Animal Hospital in Orange Beach, Al where her diagnosis and initial treatment was begun.

A few pictures and videos posted to Facebook and the whole situation snowballed into an orchestrated love fest as friend after friend (stranger after stranger) joined in to donate money, clothing, fostering and the waiting list to adopt her probably stretches to the moon!

Hannah is even featured on Causes.com, posted by yet another "fan/stranger"!

If you would like to help with Hannah's care you can do so by donating directly to her clinic - Canal Road Animal Hospital 251-968-7387 or by mailing to FurreverHomes Rescue PO Box 2171 Foley Al 36536 or by clicking any of the links provided in the post!

She may never be a "real" princess, but at least she gets a chance.  If you are thinking about adding a pet to your family, please "opt to adopt" and check out the wide selection of adoptable pets at your local shelters or thru Petfinder.com!

Such a lovable and cute dog! Thanks for sharing this story. I love the SPCA here in Dallas and got my last dog from them. Great organization.

I am in such awe of the tremendous outpouring, & caring of this precious little princess that God has put on this earth. He is testing  us to see if we actually do take care of His precious creature. In this time of such cruelty in this world, I am so amazed that there are so many wonderful, caring, heartfelt people out there yet. God bless each & every one of you! I myself have 5 cats, volunteer for a Rescue, & rescue ferals. I have 5 cats because I just rescued my 5th baby New Years Day & he's all mine! I know all too well the time  the love, the money, the care that it takes to raise a special needs pet. I myself would love to take Hannah! Bless all of you!

Hannah is the sweetest wee thing going.  I would love to be able to just hold her and carry her around but she will conquer the braces!  She is a determined little being and I just love seeing her.  Her 'foster dad' is making sure there is not one iota of dirt or dust, or a sleeper in her eyes or on her.  That's Aubie's baby.  Thank you all for the wonderful care for this sweet wee 'person' - adorable plus on the way to being a Princess.
