West Asheville is similar to many districts in US cities where one will find an area that was built in a previous heyday and lost some of its sparkle over time to suburbs or other areas. The less cash coming into the area in turn led to the historic homes and fixtures and features in them not being stripped out, as happened in many sought after neighborhoods in the 60s,70s and 80s. Now, many of the intact areas are making a hugh comeback as interest grows in the Asheville NC area.
