Howlin' with Broker Bryant

I interviewed Bryant Tutas, aka Broker Bryant, over on Bloodhound Blog today.bb

Some of the questions I asked him were:

Bryant, you were involved in commentary with Candybags, on Bloodhound Blog, some time back and followed up with a post asking “So, What Do You Do To Justify Your Commission?“. How do you think Realtors who host or comment on weblogs should prepare themselves to answer this question?

How do you think the commentary could have been handled better here on BHB?

Let’s shift to a hot topic: The Mortgage Industry’s Internal Civil War. What did you think about the mortgage industry before this post?

How have your opinions changed since that post and subsequent discussion?

How do you see Active Rain as a player in Web 2.0?

Tell us about your new weblog.

For the answers to these questions and commentary from Bryant Tutas, please click to the interview (this will open in a new window) .

My thanks go out to Bryant Tutas for the great interview!

Brian...

This is a great interview and what I love the most about it is that it is actually about Real Estate.

Well that's a nice little twist :)

Hey There BB & TLW!  Great interview.  Very insightful and we're with you - being defensive and angry never gets anyone anywhere but down an undesireable path.  Thanks for being so giving in all you do for the members of AR.  Can you get a bit more detailed on how you find that sweet spot?  Seriously speaking.

sorry to be triple posting here and for this opinion. but one thing. From reading the blog, I felt that Candybags was mentioned in a negative way. Only Bryant and Brian know exactly what occurred during the interview.

Allow me to clarify,.. i think this is fair "Candybags was rude and very hostile towards REALTORS® but he did ask a reasonable question. " .. but I felt it needed a "Broker Bryant neutralized Candybag's frustration and the discussion continued in a different tone." or something.      Because the fact of the matter is that Candybags still visits Bryant's blog and commented on other topics in a civil manner.

I realize that its your blog and you write what you want. Maybe there are some ill feelings towards Candybags, who obviously has his own experience and viewpoint. I don't remember if hw attacked you personally or not.

THIS comment is not an attack on you Brian. nor a criticism.. your post was well written and insightful, but as always, my heart is on my sleeve.

Brian Brady's interview of Broker Bryant on the Bloodhound _log (sorry I ran out of B's) was very good.  Fun to see _roker _ryant's new _log. _roker _ryant was _orn to _log.

Keep up the good work _rian _rady!

I think we're okay with Candybags, Nick.  Bryant or I will explain to him if he comes back here.  You actually did a nice job of explaining it, with your comment.  Bloodhound Blog IS asking the question..."How might we do a better job?"  That has to count for something.  I just don't want to change the integrity of the blog, Nick,  but I'll post both of these comments over there.

Good advice.  Candybags taught everybody something that week.

Nick, I agree with Brian. Hey Candybags would be first to tell you he was a d...k over at BHB. Hey they irked him!! It's also important to point out that most of the commenters to CB were not from BHB, they were just readers chiming in. In fact Greg probably stood in the background just shaking his head.

Hi B's.   You guys are right, and I dont disagree with a word in the interview.... he was a jerky at first.  I realize that the blog owners are the 'home team', but also just felt that any reader of the interview post would not know that CB calmed down and was/is civil after talking with Bryant. from my viewpoint, it would have credited Bryant moreso for neutralizing the situation.  thanks for your replys and not taking it the wrong way. :))

What a great interview! I can't believe you actually got that site. I remember when everyone was joking that you should get TLW.com and BrokerBryant.com. I tried to go to the site and it didn't work.

I always wondered what TLW's name was. Funny, funny response :)

Wait until I interview her!  She'll slip and we'll all know her name!

Hi Guys,

I admire both of your blogs, and rarely find anything more to comment on than nit picking. But I now have a major complaint!

Why, when you were talking together couldn't you help us none spellers and compromise on one spelling for your first name?

Keep up the good work.

Bill

Bryant & Brian,

Class all the way.... maybe you two should be nominated for an Oscar, Emmy, Edgar.....or some other noteable first name.

Brian, thanks for the great interview.  I love learning from Bryant.  And the fact that I'm in Florida too makes all his teachings doubly relevant!

Now as for TLW's name....how much are you willing to pay for the info?  ;-)

Very good interview, Brian and Bryant. It's impressive to see a mortgage broker and real estate broker speak so well about the impact of technology in our industry.
