The Frontiers of Flight Museum is sponsoring a "Staycation" the week of March 11 - 16 when most Dallas area schools are on Spring Break. Each day will feature activities for the entire family. My personal favorite is March 12, which is "Open Cockpit Day." Visitors can have their photo taken in a variety of aircraft from an F-16, to a Southwest Airlines 737, to a Bell helicopter.
From March 20-24, the "Wings of Freedom Tour" will be on display at the Frontiers of Flight Museum. The B-17, B-24, and other historical aircraft will be on display. The exciting part of the tour is that visitors can enjoy a walk through tour of the planes, purchase "Flight Experiences" and ride in a particular aircraft, or receive flight training in a WWII historical plane. Contact the Frontiers of Flight Museum for aircraft, prices, and availability. The latter two experiences range in price from approximately $425 to $3200.
As the daughter of a WWII Navy pilot, the "Wings of Freedom Tour" is of great interest to me!

Good morning Sharon,
I love the concept of "Staycation!" A fun way to enjoy spring break without going to far! Thanks for letting us know..wonderful Localism Post.
Dorie,
We are fortunate that Texas cities have so much to offer those who are interested in staying in town over Spring break. It's a great opportunity for families to spend time together.
Sharon, these events will be for families with children on spring break, and they sound very interesting.
Joan, it is truly amazing to visit this museum and see all of the historic planes.
