Winter Garden in Kentlands:  Coneflower

We are anxious for spring and summer in Kentlands. Coneflowers are popular in the gardens of many Kentlands home owners.  I was taking photographs of the historic Caretaker's Home in Kentlands and decided to get a shot or two of the winter garden.

There is beauty to be found long after the colors of the bloom are gone.  This is what a coneflower looks like in a winter garden.

You asked about a coneflower in bloom.  This is a June photograph of a coneflower in Kentlands.

Roy I have never seen a cone flower. What a great flower. Yesterday it giot up to 51 a short 24 hours from another bozzard. the good thing is all of teh fresh snow melted on the couthern side of my house and I can see green peeking through on the south side. I could alsl see a mole was hard at work under the snow all winter making a mess.

Interesting looking flower. Was it the genus of the mace used in olden days?
