There's A New Group in Town: Ask an Ambassador
I know you might be thinking "Not another group. Oy vey." Well let me promise you this, the Ask an Ambassador group is a very focused group and I think you'll find that we'll be consistent with our focus.
Clearly those of us that have been around for a while can remember how apprehensive we were about asking questions about all things AR. Furthermore, we were not quite sure who to ask. What we didn't know is that:
- There were these "Ambassadors" who had made an agreement with Active Rain, to help new members and old members alike just for the asking.
- Secondly, we could have covered our eyes with one hand and with the other, pointed a finger on the screen and whoever was at the end of our finger, would have been a person who would gladly have helped us.
With that said, let me talk about the focus of the group.
- Ask an Ambassador group was created to give new members a starting point to pose their questions. A place where they can feel comfortable asking specific questions about how to navigate all things Active Rain. as well as eliminating the fear that they may not be asking the right person or persons.
- Our intent is to answer the How do I? Where can I? Who do I?, What is? etc, type of questions that newbies (and oldbies too) ask. It's just that simple.
The AAA group simply wants to point a finger at the group of members that have been given and who have accepted Active Rain's charge to help when needed. New members will soon learn that they can ask any member of AR for help, but at the onset, we're just going to point them in the right direction for starters.
The basic premise for posting to the group is that your title should contain a question pertaining to how to navigate in the community that is Active Rain. The question in the title, will make it easy for someone to find the answer to a question that they have.
So as groups go, there are rules and here are ours:
Rule #1: DO NOT POST UNRELATED MATERIAL HERE! NO LISTINGS, MARKET REPORTS, CONSUMER ORIENTED POST, RANTS, LOCALISM POSTS, ETC. WE WILL UNCEREMONIOUSLY REMOVE THEM, WITHOUT FURTHER DISCUSSION.
Rule #2: SEE RULE #1
Anyone is welcome to post a question to the group and anyone can answer the questions posted to the group. You do not have to be an Ambassador to participate.
