I recently came to the conclusion, that while the top producing realtors have undoubtedly taken the necessary steps to become a successful realtor in my home town of Waco, Texas; they seem to be rather reluctant to change the way they operate. Now while it can be said that there is no need to fix something that is not broken; it can also be said; "Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there." Will Rogers
That being said, I encourage all to have the courage to get outside of their comfort zone, and be willing try new ways of doing things, as our industry is evolving, and doing so at an alarming rate. The home buyers and sellers of today, are much more technologically savvy than previous; and they are starting to expect that the realtors keep up with them.
They are able to do much more than they use to without the assistance of a realtor, that means that the realtor of today, needs to be perceived as someone that can do what they cannot. That is why we encourage all of the realtors that we meet with, to allow us to show them how we can help them grow their business. So often they put up their defense system as a knee jerk reaction. Rather than refuse to give us a listening ear, we encourage them to embrace what we are trying to do, and that is; truly EARN their business, by sincerely trying to help them grow their business, and by trying to help them make their lives easier.
