REMEMBER YOUR FIRST TIME

When I wrote up my first Real Estate offer, I used the wrong forms. After going through several wrong form episodes, I then learned I didn't fill it out completely and left blanks. What I did fill out was also wrong. After a few of what it is not, I finally got what it should be. This took some time

FIRST DRIVING LESSON

I remember learning to drive. I watched others and saw how effortless it was. I can drive no problem sez I. Got behind the wheel, you accelerate and off you go. What shocked me was that you need to brake, turn, steer, and speed-up and slow-down requiring coordination, timing and experience while driving next to another vehicle wanting to do the same things. This would take time.

FIRST VACATION

I remember going on my first vacation. I never traveled before. I packed everything that it took for me to live like I live NOW...anywhere I go. I find out that my suitcase weighs a ton. I also find out 3/4 of what I packed not needed. My mind said one thing, but practicality and experience says another. I learned

FIRST COOKING EXPERIENCE

First time I cooked something up, I did not know you needed to oil or butter the pan. Not only did the food stick, but it burnt, smoked, and stunk. Whats that smell?...... someone yells and I yell back..OH NOTHING while scrambling toward the sink to put out the dish and scrub away the evidence. I got this eventually..

FIRST CAR WASH

First time I washed a car, I didn't know there was a rhyme and rhythm to it. I just started washing everything near where I was standing using a hose only. Later on I learned it is supposed to be washed with a cleanser,  from the top down and the wheels go last and using a cloth or sponge. Furthermore, you don't wait for the wind to dry it off while sitting or traveling either. I am OK now

FIRST LAWN CUTTING

The first time I cut a lawn with a gas mower, I thought that it did all the work and you just guided it. First off, I never picked up dog poo, I just mowed over it thinking it would disperse it. Well it did, but not how I thought. Then, mowers don't do well on dirt either. Lastly, it never occurred to me to pick up the cuttings as I thought the wind would take care of that...I figured this out in time

MISCELLANEOUS

I have quite few other firsts that I am not able to share because of the nature of the subject matter...but I figured those out too. Ahhh the first time it may be awkward, bizarre, innocent, and odd but never a dull moment that old first time on anything.....

I enjoyed reading about your firsts.  I especially remember my first contract. It fell through and everyone said, "Oh don't worry you always loose the frst one. That is not such a great memory.

Betty...You kinda wonder what to say at times when perhaps nothing should be said..But how would you know that "the first time"?

My first listings were 2 lots side by side.  They only had lot #s. I wrote a contract on the first one and that was fine. Next, I wrote a contract on the second one and wrote the same lot # as the first one.  Nothing like selling the same lot twice!  Live and hopefully learn.
