My Blogging Notebook

Yes, I have a Smartphone, and also a Tablet, which are great tools to have when an idea for a blog post strikes me away from my desk, but I still prefer to write my notes, ideas, and sometimes even an entire article in a good old-fashioned spiral bound notebook. My blogging notebook is the left-over portion of my kid's science notebook from 2 or 3 years ago. Hardly any pages had been used, so I saved it for another purpose. 

This is the one I have been using since joining ActiveRain. The pages are extremely messy, and every one of them is nearly filled up with my scrawling handwriting. Some pages have things written sideways in the margins. Some, (not many, though), are neat and tidy. Some pages have sticky notes attached. 

I write other things in my blogging notebook besides blog ideas. There are notes from ActiveRain webinars I've joined, reminders to myself, driving directions, phone messages, and a plethora of doodles and drawings.

Unlike my closets and drawers, my blogging notebook is totally unorganized. In the beginning, I just opened the notebook to any old page and started writing. It didn't matter that I skipped around a lot. Now I spend way too much time flipping page to page trying to find what I am looking for. It's kind of like going on a treasure hunt. But I have to say, it is fun finding things that have been buried and forgotten. Every trip through my blogging notebook turns up something interesting that I can use. I found my notes on "My Blogging Notebook" in between "Window Treatments Q&A" and "Top Ten Reasons To Re-locate to Baldwinsville" (that one hasn't been written yet).

My blogging notebook is low-tech, messy, and unorganized, but someday I'll dust it off, look through its pages, and maybe see how far I have come.
