Builder need to square things when building homes.

There are a large number of homes with the “problems” associated with the builders not making the home the right way. I'm in no way harping on builders. But if the builders want to sell a really good product, because that is what they are hawking in the first place a product. Then they should be sure the product they are trying to sell to the general public is worthy of the amount they are willing to ask and the buyer is willing to spend.

Let's take a look at this home that I did an inspection on yesterday morning.

This home was built in 2011, with the homes age there really shouldn’t be any issues with the home at all. I mean Come on, the home is relatively a new home. Built in November of 2011, that's when the C of O was authorized for the home.

Let's take a look at what can happen to a home that's just a couple years old. Well not even try about One and a half year old.

Here we have issues with the counter top. In the time the home was occupied by the original owner the counter top decided to grow and grow a lot.

You really can't see it too clearly but the raise is about a quarter of an inch.

Now here we have the back wall of the counter top that decided it didn't like where it was living so decided to MOVE to the East by about a half inch. Not good when wanting to but a home.

Then there is the interior walls that need to be measured and marked so they are in the right position when wanting to install the cabinets in place after the walls have been installed. Make sure the walls are in the “squared position”. Not in this case.

Here we have a wall that dictates the exact position of the cabinets and counter top. The walls are off about 3/4 of an inch causing the range to look crooked when in place.

The right side if the range and C-Top was straight. But the left? As you can clearly see.

These are just a few issues with this home. The builder could have done a whole lot better when building this home. Remember, the cheapest way is not always the best way.
