ARE YOU MISSING IMPORTANT FACEBOOK MESSAGES? YOU MIGHT BE!
Ahhh, Facebook, so many things to learn and it seems every time you learn something new, they change it again! How many posts do you see about Facebook changes, privacy pleas, and updates. I found an important post from a friend just this morning. Apparently facebook notifies you of your messages from "friends". Did you know that ANYONE can send you a facebook message? If you are like me and have friends of raving clients contact you for business purposes, this could be a huge issue! Check your message link, click on "other". You may be surprised at what you have missed! You will have to check them manually each time, for now, there is no notification from facebook.
When I checked this morning, there were originally 67 messages in my "other" facebook inbox, going back over 2 years! I found only 2 that were truly. important. Most were invites, updates from pages I "liked" or spam. One was from a real estate agent who knew me through another real estate agent and wanted to partner on a seminar. The good thing was that realtor who didn't get a response from me via facebook did contact me by phone and we connected the old fashioned way. The other was from lender licensed in Virginia who wanted to connect and possibly become referral partners. Since I am licensed to do mortgages in Maryland, having more good lenders to help my out of state folks is never a bad thing. We connected today and became "friends".
Lesson...Just because you post it, message it, send it via FACEBOOK, your intended recipient may not see it. Folks may not be ignoring you, they may just have not gotten the message! Follow up if you don't hear back!
