Butterfly Exhibit at Desert Botanical Garden

Butterflies are fluttering over head by the hundreds in the Desert Botanical Garden’s Marshall Pavilion from March 2 through May 12th. 

Details:  9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily from March 2 – May 12.  Desert Botanical Garden, 1201 N . Galvin Parkway, Phoenix.  $3.50 for non-members 3 or older, plus general admission:   $18, $15 for seniors 60 or older, $10 for ages 13-18, $8 for ages 3-12, free for age 2 and younger.  Free for members.

 

Fountain Hills Fine Art & Wine Affaire

Top-quality wine, live music and fine art are just a few things to be found at this annual event organized by Thunderbird Artists and the Sunset Kiwanis of Fountain Hills.  Browse the more than 100 artists’ booth against the picturesque backdrop of the Fountain Hills fountain.

St. Patrick’s Ultimate Block Party

Lit and James Durbin, who finished fourth in Season 10 of “American Idol” headline the party with many local bands and multiple DJs n two street stages.  One price gets you into the street party and all participating bars.  For age 21 or older.

Details:  3p.m. Saturday, March 16.  Craftsman Court Entertainment District, one block west of Scottsdale Rd between Third and Fifth avenues in Old Town Scottsdale.  $25.

 

Block Party at West Addison

Family fun from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. with bands all day, clowns, games, balloon artists, face painters, cotton candy and snow-cone machines and an outdoor bar and grilling station.  For those 21 or older, the fun continues until 2a.m. with green beer, drink and shot specials all day and a DJ following the March Madness basketball games.

Details:  11a.m.-2a.m. Saturday, March 16.  West Addison Kitchen Tap Tavern, DC Ranch Market Street, 20751 N Pima Road, Scottsdale.  $10; free for children.

 

Tombstone Wild West Days

Walk the same streets that Doc Holliday, Wyatt Earp and other Wild West legends walked more than 130 years ago, while you enjoy street  entertainment from the Tombstone Vigilantes, Tombstone Gunfighters, Wyatt Earp Theatre and Doc Holliday’s Gunfight Palace.

A USO Canteen Dance, raffle and parade are slated for Sunday.  All proceeds from the fourth annual celebration, a salute to the men and women of the armed forces, will benefit the USO.

Details:  10 a.m. -4 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 11 a.m.-Noon, Sunday March 17.  Historic Tombstone on Allen Street between Second and Sixth Street.   Free.

Irish Festival and Irish Republic Public House

Live entertainment, Irish dancers, bagpipers, live music, beer and spirits and traditional Irish food at the festival.  The Irish Republic Public House is open from 8 a.m. until 2 a.m.  The festival is for 21 or older after 4p.m.

Details:  Festival is Noon-10 p.m. Sunday, March 17 at Dr. A.J. Chandler Park, 3 S Arizona Ave., Chandler.  $10.  The pub is at 58 S San Marcos Place, Chandler.
