On Saturday, the Twin Cities played host to Barack Obama and Mitt Romney.  On Sunday, Hillary Clinton paid the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area a visit.  And today the candidate du jour was Ron Paul.

Obama appeared before a packed crowd at the Minneapolis Target Center.  Clinton paid a visit to the Augsburg College campus.  Romney was in Edina late in the day.  And Ron Paul plans a stop at a University of Minnesota rally this evening.

The tight Super Tuesday race is responsible for the procession of candidates visiting Minnesota.  Caucus participation is expected to be strong and Minnesota is one of a handful of battleground states, along with California and Missouri, for both major political parties.

Also significant to this year's political process is the upcoming Republican National Convention, scheduled to come to Minneapolis and Saint Paul September 1-4.

Minnesota will hold its precinct caucuses at 7:00 P.M. tomorrow, February 5th.  These partisan precinct caucuses determine which Minnesota delegates will represent the State at upcoming national nominating conventions.  Caucuses also choose local party officials, elect local delegates and determine platform issues.

Business and politics can be tricky mix...You will probably get a lot of clicks on this, but not a lot of comments!

Thanks, Holly!  I didn't expect to get a lot of comments.  I just wanted to point out that the major political parties seem to think the Minnesota vote is a significant element in this year's campaign.

Eric, things have shifted to Virginia- in the last few days we've had politicians visiting (Huckabee in Lynchburg today, Richmond tomorrow), Hillary and Obama in Charlottesville, ads on radio and tv. Our chance to vote comes this Tuesday.

Debbie, it's really a fast-moving process, isn't it? Lots at stake as we get through more of these caucuses and primaries!
