Twitter Tweet

I am not a Twitter-er. Correction - I was not a Twitter-er. However, after Seth Godin’s faux pas in not claiming his name in Twitter and thereby opening himself up to a faux Seth Godin twit, I decided it was time to give in and start tweeting er… twittering.

Does this mean I must notify everyone on my TwitterList when I’m eating lunch, or feeling down, or vacuuming? Will they TwitterBack to give me menu suggestions, cheer me up, or offer to come over and dust? I have to admit I don’t totally get it, but since I’m supposed to be Internet-savvy, I guess I’ll have to get ~~twit~~ it.

I found a good blog posting titled 10 Benefits of Twitter for Companies, so I signed our company, Terralever, on as Twitter-ers too. I’m going to summarize the 10 points, but you really should go read it, if you haven’t opened a Twitter account. (Remember Seth Godin.)

You can watch your clients
Increase brand awareness of your company
Promote your blog posts
Networking
Announce new offers or products
~~Spy on~~ Get to know your competitors
Reputation management on Google

Kay, I'm Linked, Konnected, Bloglogged, Plaxo'd,Facebooked and actually a few others that I lost when we reformatted our computer last week and I ended up back at an old favorites setting. It wasn't even that old just a few weeks but I can't hardly keep up with all of them. So I guess now I need to Twitter, huh.

Hi Kay,

I have a twitter account that I have let be dormant while maintaining my corporate blog, my AR blog, my Linked in account, my blog log account, my mspace account, and peeking in on my facebook account.

I actually had done a post on twitter discussing possible ways in which brokers and agents could use twitter to communicate with their clients.

I know from many of the bloggers out there that they find twitter extremely useful.

So time to get the feather duster and clear off the layer that has settled on my twitter account. Thanks for the reminder.

Kay - I am also not very sure how to Twitter. I went and looked at the site and set up a profile there awhile back, but it seemed hard to navigate.

I keep hearing this 'twittering' hmm, must be another blog network? web ring? I feel sooo far behind sometimes in keeping up with everything - only so much time and mental energy!
