Who would think that super bowl day would bring those out to look at homes.

I thought it would be a great day and it turned out to be just that way. I was busy from the time I drove into the subdivision until I left late.

I was showing walk-ins from the neighbors. Their son was in from out of state thinking about moving into the neighbor hood so the grandparents could help baby sit during the day.

Others just driving the neighbor hood. Checking out the price reductions ask about the incentives. The incentives are removed to lower the price of the homes.

Did I mention that the day brought 60 plus degree weather? Well, it was and everyone was out and about.

With days like this I know things will break and homes will start moving again.

Susan, I had a great turnout on mine - 7 couples when I typically have 1 or 2 tops!

I just wanted to park and read the comments.  I didn't do an open. I held one Saturday instead.  I actually took Sunday off and didn't even watch the game!

Susan, I was home watching our Patriots lose to the Giants:( Glad to see you had good activity. Spring comes sooner down there then here but we are getting busy here in NH.

Susan, Sometimes holidays and sporting event days turn out to be surprisingly successful!

Susan I was surprised to see the number of open house that were listed in the paper last Sunday, I wonder if the ones around here did as well as you did.

Judi - Sounds like you had a great turn out for the day also.

Chris - i am glad you took some times off. It does us all good.

Cynthia - I agree on that one.

Judy - I was cheering for your Patriots. The rest of the room was not. Not even my husband would help me out.

Diane - I agree. I heard last year it was a bust, but we had 60 degree weather I believe is what helped.

George - I am believing that the weather had a lot to do with it, but also more buyers are watching the builders slash prices and have incentives. When I told them the incentives are gone but the price dropped $30K then their eyes opened up. but I still have those who have to sell first to buy. Next I want an offer to go through closing is what my next beliefs will be.

I was with my older son in California and it was cold, raining and damp - certainly not conducive to buying a home.

Sharon,

I can pass on the cold and damp, but I will take the rain and 70  any day. I hope you had a great time anyway.

Hi Susan,

I opted for my open houses on Saturday instead of Sunday.  It sounds like yours went well anyway.  I'm really surprised at the traffic in early February.  The weather makes all the difference.

PS.  I"m around but boy oh boy have I been busy.

Susan,

Did you see any offers out of of the Super Bowl open house? A fun incentive, (instead of another $10,000 off the list price), would be to offer tickets to next years Super Bowl, with an accepted offer within a week of the Super Bowl. Just a thought.

02/06/2008 01:10 PM by Jeff Fullmer - Credit/Investment Expert (National Foundation for Credit Excellence)

Tracy - Saturday was one couple but Sunday was 5 groups of people. Now I need to turn them into a purchase. Possible listing and purchase.

Jeff -  You have just hit the nail on the head. I must refocus on what I am asking for. I do not need just walk ins and for those to just show around. I need the offers that go with the incentives. I agree with you.

Susan, Thanks for rooting for our Patriots. It seems there is a lot of controversy around them this year but since they lost the big game I bet it will quiet down for a while. They gave us a lot to cheer about this year.

I was also shocked how well my open house went on Superbowl Sunday. I was expecting very few people and got at least 10 couples through!

I had big plans for a quiet Sunday afternoon and evening to watch the Superbowl with my family but like you, I got busy.  Not as busy as you though.  I still was able to see the game and it was great!

Judy - You are welcome for the rooting. My husband was for the other team.

Todd - Great job Todd

Donna - It never fails when we need time off. my cell phone never stopped ringing this afternoon.
