The Patrick Miracle - Warning - Very graphic photo

The Patrick Miracle is about a young dog, a dog like many across the country and around the world that was taken in by a family.  Perhaps his first year or two weren't that bad, no one who actually knows will talk. But, something changed or was never really good at all and then.......well.......things turned really sour.  I don't know much about his past beyond two years ago today.  But, Patrick's last few months to a year were not good for him.  Patrick was abused, not provided proper nutrition or veterinary care and eventually dumped down a 16 story trash chute.  That's about a 160 foot fall into a garbage bin.  He was inside a plastic bag!

The story could have ended there, and would have if his "family" had their way.  No one would know, Patrick would just "be gone!"

But then The Patrick Miracle occur ed!

Because for Patrick, life didn't end.  His next few months weren't that great either; but, instead of abuse he received love, instead of starvation he received nourishment, instead of neglect he received veterinary care, instead of being unloved he received a Facebook page with 265,268 "loves" (as of the moment I write this), and adopted into a wonderful, loving home where is is thriving today!

And you thought your Facebook marketing was going well!

It took quite a few months for Patrick to recover and there was a lot of pain and treatments to endure, but recover he did.  So today, 265,000+ people around the world will celebrate his birthday, or better the second anniversary of his rebirth and tip one for Patrick.

Oh, yeah! His name wasn't always Patrick, but he is now Irish I assume, named after Ireland's Patron Saint .  It's sort of a thing with dog rescue groups who often rename animals that come into their care, often using current events......for lack of a more sophisticated method!

He is also, possibly, a Bull Terrier, mixed breed dog who shouldn't be judged by his pedigree or his looks. But, only on his character, and that smile in the picture above certainly gives him character.

That's todays look!

Two years ago he didn't quite have the same magnetic personality and was in a condition that few would or could have expected him to survive:

Yes, the pictures are of the same dog!  The bottom one was taken two years ago today and the top one just a few days ago.  No dog, could do anything so wrong as to justify that type of abuse.

You can read more about the entire story and see additional pictures here: The Dog who came back from the dead.
