Happy Saint Patrick's Day from Team Zuhl!
We spent the day holding a home inspection for a deal that just went under contract. Did a little prospecting, saw the family for corned beef, worked on transfering data to our new CRM, and, in this photo, settled down for Shepherd's Pie with the kids.
Here's the recipe:
Shepherd's Pie
Saute 2 onions and 3 carrots in olive oil. Add 3 cloves of garlic, salt and pepper to taste, and red pepper flakes.
Add about a pound of ground turkey (sure, lamb or beef or some mixture would work, too). Brown the meat.
Have a glass of wine. Deglaze with about a cup of white wine, although I suppose beer would be pretty darned great. Stir in a tablespoon of flour.
Mix in a cup of chicken broth, a tablespoon of Worchestershire sauce, and a handful of frozen corn.
Simmer about 15 minutes.
Pour into a baking dish. Cover with mashed potatoes and then a half of a bag of shredded cheddar (we used a cheddar/Monterey Jack mix). Bake 425 degrees for about 20 minutes.
