Who is reading your Active Rain Blog? What did they click on to get to you and where were you found on the search engine's page? To find out about how mybloglog can help you with that, click here to read Part 1 of Who Is Reading Your Active Rain Blog.

After you see what the consumer clicked on you can take it a step further if you want to know more.

There are two more columns that give you great information about what people are doing once they are at your blog. Remember the first column is shown in Part 1 of this post. It is the column that shows what the exact keywords were typed into the search box of Google, MSN and Yahoo. That is one of the best parts; your searches for all 3 major search engines are right there in one spot. I have placed another view of one here:

blogging for business with mybloglog

You can also click on the keyword search and see the entire search page, here you can see where you are ranked on that particular search page. This is great information for you to use to check out your competition and see how fast you can climb to the top on that particular keyword search.

What is super cool here is that there were two searches for my deceased mother who is quite famous among Latvians! I just got goosebumps and a lump in my throat because I wrote a post about my mother, Ausma Jaunzeme. Of course, as usual it is not always about the business!

But for business, it is great too. There are searches for short sales, that is a good thing for us! There are searches for Steve Zungul who is a very famous Lord of Indoor Soccer and we have his home for sale. People from all over the world google his name and our listing comes up higher in the searches than his own stuff. Who knows? Maybe one of those people will decide to want to buy the house that he lives in!

Mark Bellissimo is a very famous man here in Wellington. Thanks to Janie Coffey who received notice of searches on her blog for him I started blogging about the gossip about him and all his equestrian dealings here in Wellington Florida upon her suggestion to write posts about him. Well, she was right, and I have SO many searches for him!

Now, the next column is what post the keyword search brought them to. This is where you can see what the search engines think had relevant content in relation to the consumer's search. Pretty cool, right?

blogging for business mybloglog

The last column on the right will show you what click throughs happened from your post on your blog. This is where you can check how good your links are working and what interests the consumer has beyond the scope of a post. This is very useful to learn more about your consumer and then to write more about what your readers want to know about.

blogging for businesss

I want to give credit to two people for my discovery of mybloglog. First when I noticed the mybloglog widget on many AR members sites I did not even know where to go to get one!  So I called Dan Forbes to help me get this widget on my site. He was great and walked me through the instructions and I got my widget on my blog.

Second was Janie Coffey who is the one who told me to upgrade mybloglog to the paid version so that I could see what the consumers are searching for. Janie emailed me to tell me what searches were coming up on her blog that were related to our area. Thank you and now I can pay it forward!

I am very new at blogging, so some of this doesn't mean much to me YET!  I don't have a MYBLOGLOG button after my blogs - how do I get one there?

I thought the little blog log thing was just something fun that people added to their sites.  I had no idea how useful it could be.  I may need to look into it further.

Katerina - You silly!!  Your blog was one of the first blogs I subscribed to!!  I lurk there all the time and try to remember to thank you.   That is how I learned about tagging among many other things.  You will have high mention in my "thank you blog" @10K points.  I have even printed some of your blogs for my Blog Bible.  Don't tell anyone.

So far, though, I don't usually understand what you are talking about, but I will get there.  I just noticed that you put a link to commenters pages in your comments.  Why?  -Virginia

Virginia Hepp - Mesquite NV

Well, I wish the AR gods would make it easier for us to see our subscribers like in in the order they subscribed. Sorry about that! Trying to remember over 300 names is not really my strong point! I am subscribing to your blog now. The commenter link back is link love for freaky juice. AR algorithms are set up as no follow for comments. But the link that you get in your comment is a follow back to your blog link, so I am just doubling that for you. Freaky things can happen on google that have landed us some referrals, you just never know!

Donna- It is so hard to find the place on mybloglog to pay for your upgrade unless you do it when you first sign up. I don't think their priority is the possibility of all the money they could pay from people like us so willingly to give it to them! It is like finding a needle in the haystack to find where you pay your $25!
