Actually, if Jupiter were the same distance as the moon, I would think that gravity would pull us smashing right into Jupiter. Bye bye everybody. LOL.
I'm sure if we ever see that sight we'll know the end is near. Balance in life can be hard to achieve but we certainly need to try.
Would that be cool or what:-)
I remember back in summer of 1994, Jupiter was being walloped by a giant comet. I just happened to be camping in the high country of Yosemite at the time. We had a really nice telescope with us. Jupiter looked so close I felt I could touch it, and the impact of the comet was easily seen. . .Amazin' stuff!
I'm also smiling at Carolyn's comment. She's right you know. It kind of reminds me of when 2 corporations "merge." They always seem to call it that, especially to the employees. But everyone knows in reality the "merger" is an "acquisition." The bigger company gobbles up the smaller one, and yes, a lot of employees have to say, "bye bye":-)
Michael, Well I'm never going to get to visit either, but I do like the imagery it creates in the photo - very nice. :)
Michael, balance? We need balance? Actually, this makes it pretty clear that we do indeed.
well vacations could be a lot more fun if we could jump a rocket and head over to jupiter for a few days!
Wow. What a crazy picture. That would be so cool and yet unnerving to see that everyday.
Carolyn, unfortunately you are right. We would smash into Jupiter like a bug on a wall... Yikes!
William, it would be scary looking at that everyday and watching that red spot, which is a storm that's been going on for hundred's of years.
Cindy, We definitely need balance in every day life. When we have too much or too little of something, life becomes hard and chaotic. It's challenging, but worth the effort.
Michael -- love the image. Had to respond to Myrl (#6) -- sometimes it is the smaller company that sets all the rules after the "merger". On slightly different note - if we weren't pulled into the planet, can you imagine how high the tides would be?
Myrl, What an amazing experience to be able to see that! We had friends that had an observatory built in their custom home. We would go there often and look through their telescope. it was fascinating! Unfortunately, they sold their home and moved away.
I agree with your comment about companies merging. Some large companies do gobble up the smaller one, but Steven is also right, depending on the size and type of company, if the bigger company wants to merge...the smaller one sets the rules...
Tony, Darcy & Berni, I'm glad you enjoyed the photo. I'm sure that's what Jupiter looks like from one of its many moons.
Have a great weekend!
Patricia, I felt this photo really captures when something is out of balance, malaligned...I'm glad you liked it.
Mark, If we could travel into space, I would've booked my flight already. I should've been an astronaut... haha!
Debi, Yes, very unnerving to see that. But it is cool to imagine what it would look like from Earth.
Have a great weekend!
Than, Thanks for stopping by. I'm glad you liked the photo.
Steven, I'm glad you liked the photo. As far as the tides go...they would be tidal waves! Crazy to think.
Have a wonderful weekend, everybody!
