Congrats, Sondra! I think you need to be an AR Ambassador. Not sure how you get there, but this is the type of attitude I'd consider worthy of an ambassador-ship. :) Very nice.
I have written many orphan posts. After many years of blogging, I now usually get a comment or two on most of my blogs.
Great post! Many posts become orphans just because they get lost in the sea that is AR.
It's not just about "getting" comments. It is about building relationships. It's also important to be active in Groups too.
I appreciate your sentiments, no one likes to be alone or ignored.
Some blogs are written for the outside audience but I do agree we all like to have comments on our blogs.
Hi everyone. Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. Instead of responding here, I am trying to get over to your posts to comment there. As Richard, most recently commented it's about building relationships more so than just commenting.
Kelly, welcome to Active Rain! The link to your blog isn't showing up and I'm having challenges finding your post. I'll try to visit your blog as soon as I can find it.
Congratulations on the feature. It was well deserved. I don't expect you visit my blog anytime soon, since you will have a lot of comments to return. Have fun and enjoy the gold star.
Sondra ~ What an excellent suggestion you've given us! I like the photo in your post, too ... a very cute little "orphan" :-)
Hi there Sondra, from orphan to adoption! We just jumped back in to AR and are having fun and gathering some talented new bloggers to add to the ones we already admire. :)
Sondra, I am SO glad that this was featured!!! And Gary has been one of my tried and true from the beginning also. It is painful and just like trying some new product ALWAYS at Trader Joe's, (one of my goals each time I'm in there) I like to meet and greet a newbie who doesn't have much mileage or points under their belts--because you find some real delights by trying something new every day!
Hi Sondra,
I love the creative thought behind this post, and it is very deserving of its FEATURE. I see one commenter above who had an orphan post that I add my two cents. I too try to find those orphan posts and comment as much as possible.
Ha! I've written posts that have gotten ZERO comments before. It's humbling!
Agreed. I always try to comment when I find the topic interesting. Sometimes I won't just because the post is downright nasty! I had one of those last week where someone changed offices & was spouting off how the new office was the best, etc. Never forget where you came from or what you got there.
I have not looked for orpans yet but whatever catches my attention gets a comment regardless of 0 comments or 50.
Sondra I do try and even after my 10 credited comments each day. It is building relationships. But, I should try harder! Thanks for all you do!
I'm heading out to find some orphans now! We've all been there.
Best way to get comments is to make comments. First read the post so the comment has meaning. Folks remember.
Sondra, I agree and have felt bad for a member who actually wrote a good post, but remaind relatively unnoticed. I welcome the opportunity to be the first to comment or the third sending a few points their way. I remember when I first started blogging...I don't think my posts were all that good, but it bothered me that I wasn't getting much response...it was after, as Lenn Harley #49 mentions, I regularly commented on others post that I started getting noticed.
