Miss Feng Shui Where can I purchase affordable plants for my Home?
This is a common question after completing a Feng Shui consultation and/or lecture. The best place I have encountered so far to purchase affordable, vibrant plants is with IKEA. They sell the plants while in their young stages of developmen which means the price range starts around 3 dollars and increases from there. The most expensive price I found was around $40.00 but that was do to the size of those given plants (mini trees).
I personal love and enjoy taking care of my house plants, I find the energy exchange helps to ground and heal me along with the energy of my home. IKEA's plants have always lasted, also because I maintain and care for them. Do your research on how much light and water a plant needs before you purchase one. This will allows you know exactly where to place it within your home.
If you really don't do well with the upkeep of plants, the next best Feng Shui suggestion is to use artificial or silk plants which IKEA has too. Just as with the real plants, you will get great prices and selections.
When selecting your plants keep in mind, Feng Shui recommends you choose ones that have curved, soft and/or rounded endges. It's best to stay clear of cactus for they produce a sharp cutting energy. There are times to use them, but if you enhancing the general over all chi of you home, it's best not to have them around. If you really like cactus plants, try and stick with ones that have the softer presentation with thier spikes or purchase an Aloe plant (I have one myself).
