If there ever was an example of the ying and yang in the universe, a feast or famine business it would be the real estate business. Some days you seem almost idle, other days you jump out of bed and it seems you immediately go to a 100 mph pace before even a first cup of coffee. The latter I think of as
Getting Through Those Bad Hair Days.
With apologies or maybe not with my graphic of Nicholas Cage, getting through bad hair days where the work load piles up faster than the time allotted for it, you are paddling as fast as you can and still sinking, remember if you keep plowing ahead, the smoke will clear.
Tips
- Keep the end in mind, this too shall pass
- Humor. If ANYTHING this is the saving grace. Laugh through the chaos as much as you can. Didn't you read my email? Hey, I have been on the phone for two hours and haven't even turned my computer on yet. It does get hysterical at times
- Try to prioritize. Toss the lower priorities right into the ditch, and focus what you have to do RIGHT NOW. A closing today or tomorrow gets top billing
- Try to think how to have less bad hair days in the future with better planning and organization. If you lose your keys every other day maybe you need to put a hook on the wall so you know where they are
- Take deadlines and quit playing the cram the night before the final game. Reset the deadline FOR YOU days earlier
