Have you ever written that perfect post? Of course you have. You know, the one that you just knew in your heart was going to be featured. It was just that good.

You spent a lot of time and effort to get it “just right.” The right images, the right graphics, the right fonts, the killer subject. Careful selection of everything to reach perfection in a blog post. They can’t turn it down this time.

And you wait. I should be hearing pretty soon that it’s been Featured and posted to the front page. The front page of Active Rain...it doesn’t get any better than that.

I’m going to set aside the time to respond to every commenter. Any time now. I wonder what’s taking so long?

What happened? I should have been notified by now. Who do you have to pay to get Featured on Active Rain anyway? I know my post is better than half the posts that are Featured right now.

Most of us have been there. The thing that drives me crazy is the post I write in two minutes, little or no thought, no graphics...and the darn thing gets Featured. I think they do that to embarrass me from time to time.

I am new here, a fast question. When I first arrived here, I would look at a group that I wanted to post to and write a specific article that would add some value to THAT group, based on the listed objectives of the group. 

I have since gone over to the dark side and write one generic post, and then do the unthinkable, post to 5 groups, all at once, with the SAME post !!

I am not sure that I have actually added any value to Active Rain, following the one post fits all sizes mentality.

Dick Greenberg said it best " point whores ". ( the best thing I've learned so far :) ) 

I have become what I loathe the most, apologies to who ever said something like this  first !!

Bryan I have just read your posts I think they are very good and have great value ! We all can't have feature posts ..I would rather have Google juice .You are doing just fine ..

Regardless of personal effort, some of us have very few featured blogs. The features will not create income. Blogs that generate contacts with prospects are the best ones.
