Maine Maple SundayThe fourth Sunday in March is a special rite of Spring in Maine and the day most Mainers head out to their favorite farm for pancake breakfasts, wagon rides, and all things maple.  Here in Lewiston/Auburn Maine and throughout the state you can see the tell tale signs of spring...sap buckets and blue collection lines on all available Sugar Maple Trees.  With a mix of wood burning and sweet sap evaporating filling the air, local farms with sugar shacks are busy preparing for Maine Maple Sunday.

Find a participating maple syrup producer near you and make plans to spend the day taking in the sweetness of spring.

Yes.  Most definitely.  There is no question about it.  Maine maple syrup is the BEST!!!!!  Nothing better than stuffing your face with pancakes & waffles drowning in Maine's best!

I see your Cottonwood trees have covered the ground in a beautiful white blanket.

Those are Cottonwoods, aren't they? So, how do you get Maple syrup out of Cottonwoods?

Yes Jill they are yummy!

Agreed Mark!  Although stuffing your face with Maine lobster ranks right up there too.

LOL Michael!  Sure...cottonwoods.  Even our trees have to pull double duty here and give us more than shade.  No little poofy things raining down from the trees here.  Although we do get a ton of those little helicopter seeds to play with from the maples.
